Not being much of a sports fan, I’ve never really put much thought into what types of snacks to take to a Super Bowl party (other than beer)! This year, all of our friends decided to gather for the occasion with everyone volunteering to bring their favorite dish.
Not wanting to feel left out, of course, I decided to bring a vegetarian version of a football party staple – buffalo wings! Of course I am expecting to get the usual “what the hell is that!” reaction, but I’m positive that even the most devout carnivore will have to admit that these things are pretty damn good!
Since the grocery store was all out of the regular Morningstar Spicy Buffalo Wings, I bought two boxes of the Parmesan Garlic Wings. For the glaze, I bought a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray’s Buffalo glaze and decided to use what was left of my Lawry’s Szechuan Sweet & Sour BBQ sauce.
Once both boxes of nuggets were cooked according to the directions, I tossed each in one of the sauces and served with homemade bleu cheese dip and celery.
My only suggestion is to serve these right away or else the breading tends to get a little soggy if they sit for too long. Not bad!
